Measurements:
All items are also measured. The best way to know if an item will fit is to take your measurements. A few tips:
- use a soft measuring tape
- chest: measure around the widest part of your chest.
- waist: measure where you'd like the waist band to sit
- hip: measure around the widest part of the hips
- we recommend allowing 1–2 inches of ease (extra room) for a comfortable, relaxed fit. Less ease means a tighter, more fitted look.
How We Describe Condition
Every item at Past Lives is inspected before listing. We describe condition honestly so you know exactly what you're getting. Here's what our condition labels mean:
Excellent
No visible flaws and like new structural integrity. The piece looks and feels nearly new. May have been worn once or twice, or is deadstock (never worn).
Very Good
Minor signs of gentle wear, like fading, minor scuffs or marks . Excellent structural integrity.
Good
Shows normal vintage wear. May have fading, soft pilling, or soft stains. Any notable flaws are photographed and described in the listing. Still fully wearable.
Fair / As-Is
Visible flaws that are clearly noted and photographed, things like a small hole, staining, significant fading, or a missing button. Priced to reflect the condition. Great for those who love an extra loved piece !
A Note on Flaws & Vintage Character
All vintage items have at least one past life giving them more character than anything brand new. Light cracking on graphics, natural softening of fabric, and colour variations from sun exposure are part of what makes vintage unique and are not considered flaws unless specifically noted. We always photograph and describe anything we consider a true defect.
